Landscapes of Home follows the lives of two doctors who were at the New Denver and Lemon Creek Japanese-Canadian internment camps during the 1940s and 1950s. Through interviews with the principal characters Dr. Henry Ryusuke Shibata (1930-present) and relatives and acquaintances of Dr. Stuart Cooper Robinson (1921-2011), the documentary shows how these brave and driven individuals helped victims with Japanese heritage recover after their lives were ripped away from them. The story develops by mirroring the experiences of Dr. Robinson with Dr. Shibata, who both grew up as second- and third-generation immigrants in another land before they were forced to abandon their homes.
