Ag Apolloni's 2020 novel, translated from the Albanian by Robert Wilton in 2023 is not an easy read but is a worthwhile one, a beautifully written exploration of loss and grief in the aftermath of the Kosovo War.
Apolloni is one of Kosovo's leading writers and we are lucky to have this, his third novel, available in English. An English translation of his first novel The Howl of the Wolf was published earlier this year and his most recent novel Red Riding Hood from 2022 in 2025. All translated by Robert Wilton.
