Hi Guys and Gals I know I said I wouldn't buy Timothy but I caved in and bought it because it was on sale. It does not mean I want to buy the rest of the range lol possibly any new characters that are released I will seriously consider but not the remakes of the current range.
Anyhow lets talk about Timothy, standard on this loco is the shared chassis that is the same for every engine regardless of size or wheel config. I did have to mod it to run on the blue track and I have a video about how to do that by filing down the locking tab/activation tab. I also added a weight on each side of the chassis to aid traction (it needs all the help it can get on blue track).
A good runner and a silent runner it takes 2xAAA batteries and runs very smoothly although when switched off it does not free roll which is a small annoyance more than anything. I did not perform a load test but I expect it could pull 6 full size trucks on the flat with no problems.
I think if you like this engine you should buy it, I do not approve of all the engines being the same under the body but they sure do run well after I fixed them.
I give Timothy from Trackmaster 5/10. Lazy design with no rods and lacking finer detail, I dislike the coupling as it keeps uncoupling by itself.
