Meteorologist Alexa Trischler says Invest 97 could develop further possibly into a tropical depression or a weak tropical storm before it moves inland near east Texas or western Louisiana by midweek.
This will bring scattered passing showers and storms to the Gulf South, including Southeast LA and South MS, over the next few days. Storms will be hit or miss but heavy downpours are possible at times that may lead to localized street flooding.
