Professor Daniela De Angelis, Deputy Director of the MRC Biostatistics Unit based at Cambridge University, launched the MRC Seminar Series in September 2020. During her talk she gave us insights into her work on monitoring and evaluating aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic from March – September 2020. Her team’s evaluations have been reported regularly to the Scientific Pandemic Influenza sub-group on Modelling (SPI-M), a subgroup that feeds into the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE).
