About this Featurette aka EPK (Electroinic Press Kit):
"In 1991, Barry Levinson was finally getting the opportunity to direct TOYS from the screenplay he had co-written at the very beginning of his career. He hired documentary filmmaker Wayne Ewing to shoot a feature-length behind-the-scenes on super 16 mm film and when Wayne had to stop editing the project himself to shoot Levinson’s TV show Homicide, I was brought on. When TOYS opened to less-than-stellar reviews and poor box office, the documentary was dropped just shy of completion.
As best I am aware, all that’s left is this Electronic Press Kit and a very battered VHS copy of the offline of the full documentary. This is a shame as the gorgeous footage contained hours of Robin Williams riffing for the crew, refining jokes that would ultimately make it into the film. We also see the rest of the impressive cast improvising and building material, the amazing sets being built and Levinson bringing his vision to life.
Lost to the ages. Sigh."

![GERMINAL - 1993 (Remastered US TRAILER)
Remastered US trailer of the movie Germinal (1993) from Sony Pictures Classics
Germinal is a 1993 French epic film based on the 1885 novel by Émile Zola. It was directed by Claude Berri, and stars Gérard Depardieu, Miou-Miou and Renaud. At the time it was the most expensive movie ever produced in France. It was the fourth most attended film of the year in France.
It won the César Award for Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design, and was nominated for Best Film, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best director, Best Writing, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Music and Best Production Design. The film was selected as the French entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 66th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.[4][5]
The film, set in the nineteenth century, closely follows the plot of the novel, which is a realistic story of a coalminers strike in northern France in the 1860s. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germinal_(1993_film) | https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germinal_(film,_1993) ]
Dans le nord de la France au milieu du XIXe siècle, les ouvriers dune ville charbonnière sont exploités par le propriétaire de la mine. Un jour, ils décident de se mettre en grève et les autorités les répriment.
