DressageHub | Toxic Trainer Livestream: Bullying And Consent At The Riding Stable @DressageHub | Uploaded January 2022 | Updated October 2024, 9 hours ago.
Your trainer has one job. Yup one. That is to set you up for success. That means they are in charge of keeping you safe and developing confidence in your skills as an equestrian. It is that simple.
This week a fan sent me this video, and while many of the comments were reactionary to the mental health of the horse, I found something even more disturbing about this video.
The trainer is running a live stream without the riders consent.
On top of this the livestream of her tacking her horse up at the stable starts to go bad and rather than stop the live stream she chops up the young lady's self esteem and puts in on display for the rest of the world to see.
At Dressage Hub we think the rules of engagement when it comes to video and consent are very clear so we added them to this video. This will better help riders understand how to deal with a toxic trainer and where to draw the line.
