Wärtsilä and public utility company DREWAG partnered to construct and maintain a new, efficient and flexible 90 MW CHP gas engine power plant in the city of Dresden. It will provide reliable electricity and district heating to the city’s inhabitants while also supporting a larger project – the Energiewende, i.e. Germany’s planned transition towards renewable energy future. Wärtsilä’s solutions provide the needed flexibility to integrate renewables and secure power system reliability.
