Why get a travel brochure in boring old paper, if you could have an interactive on on CD-i? This is 'Central and Northern England' on CD-i by On/Q Corporation.
I've attempted to make the audio/video contents of the disc flow into one video, to make it more easily accessible, without the need of a CD-i player. After an introduction on my part, you'll be off to tour around the UK. This title explores 3 regions: Yorkshire/Lake District (North), East and Central England. Each location has a video segment, but otherwise consists of voice overs on top of still. It's like that old aunt who insists on breaking out the projector to go over that wonderful holiday once again from back in the 70's... maybe. It features both tourist sights as well as places to sleep. I do not show the addresses of these B&B's.
The first hour is specific content to the topical regions, afterwards it's more generic information on the UK and travel tips. These are shared amongst the discs of this series (I think).
I find the whole thing pretty charming and just a relic of its time and it also gives a nice window back to the 90's. Some things have changes quite a bit in the way we think about travel and accommodations, some things are still relevant to day. I do hope that most of the UK did a bit of an update to the furniture though!
