Director Larz Roberts gives a quick tour of the S. Gale Denley Student Media Center on the campus of the University of Mississippi. Located in Bishop Hall, the center is home to the Ole Miss yearbook, The Daily Mississippian, NewsWatch Ole Miss and Rebel Radio 92.1.
Student media dates back to 1897 with the creation of the yearbook and 1911 with the start of the newspaper. All outlets have been a large part of documenting the history of campus and the surrounding community.
The Student Media Center has over 100 student staff members, with most positions being paid. It is open to any major on campus. All outlets are independently student-run with six full-time staff members on hand to help and advise.
