Spanning Italy, Switzerland, and France, the Tour du Mont Blanc is a popular hiking trail encircling Western Europe's highest peak. Mont Blanc itself towers over the valleys below, sitting at a height of 4,809 meters or 15,777 feet. This iconic trek is about 170 kilometers long and usually takes 8 to 12 days to complete. Along the way, you'll encounter charming villages, breathtaking lakes, verdant valleys, and impressive glaciers. We embarked on a 6-day hike of the eastern TMB, starting in Courmayeur, Italy, and ending in Chamonix, France. Covering approximately 90 kilometers with over 5,000 meters or 16,404 ft of elevation gain, this portion of the trail offers a taste of the TMB's grandeur.
