This is the awesome Bad Apple shadow art video (based on the Touhou games), traced in realtime and projected using my laser scanner :)

Last night at 6am I was bored and copied and pasted some libavcodec example code into my laser framework, and hooked it up to the tracer I used for the metaballs and fire effects on my LASE demo. It worked a lot better than I expected it to! This is a slightly refined version with a few tweaks to the algorithm, but it's still pretty naive.

Edit: more info at http://openlase.org. Recent versions of the software work a lot better and blink a lot less, and also support real edge detection for videos that aren't just blank and white ;)
