Stage 1 isn't too much to write home about, so long as you're quick about your attacking. Even on Normal Mode, enemies can actually get some pretty nasty patterns if you actually give them the chance to. One thing you'll learn about this game quickly is the amount of bullet canceling that goes on when taking out large fairies. Blasting them doesn't just stop their attack, but it also clears out all the bullets nearby them as well. Something you're gonna find yourself making use of a lot in this game.
The theme of the day with Shekle is basically “overlapping bullet waves”. Almost all her attacks are a fairly direct case of “here's a straightforward attack, and here's a second wave to go along with it”. Generally speaking your goal is just to position yourself in such a way you won't have to worry too much about the former (if not completely ignore it) while you focus the bulk of your attention on the latter. All the while making sure not to dodge in an area where the two overlap.
