Kathryn Oliver | 'Touch' A Solstice Story by Kathryn Oliver @festivalonearth | Uploaded December 2020 | Updated October 2024, 8 minutes ago.
On this returning of the light. I'd like to invite you on a journey.
(It's part dream...part not).
It begins on the summer solstice,
in fields overflowing with purple clover. And despite the drought, the ground is lush
and covered with swallowtail butterflies.
We then travel roundabout,
from my backyard garden, where roses bloom, to Fiorenze’s storehouses of marbled gods and a pink-robed angel.
Finally:
ice crystal trees,
cardinals singing,
and winter solstice arrives.
And the mysterious …
Yes.
