Thanks for watching! Watch this video in the highest quality possible for the best viewing experience! In this video, we take a ride on one of TTC’s Newer additions to the fleet, the New flyer XE40. Enjoy as we cruise along route 108 Driftwood. Which runs from TTC’s Sheppard west station, to TTC’s Pioneer village station. Route 108 is served by Arrow Road division, which is the only garage to have the XE40’s. Route 108 runs all day Monday-Sunday and uses 40 foot buses at all times.
3705 is a 2019 New flyer Xcelsior XE40 “Charge” bus, and is part of a 25 unit order (3700-3724) this order is somewhat of a split between the 2018 & 2019 units, as 3700-3709 were delivered first, 2 months after delivery 3710-3724 started delivery. A very noticeable difference between 3700-3709 & 3710-3724 is that 3710-3724 have overhead chargers on the roof. These buses are pretty special being the first new flyer buses in the fleet since 1999 & the first electric buses in the fleet. They are powered with a Siemens ELFA2, and use Direct drive. This allows for a rather quiet and smooth ride aboard. These units use American seating insight and have USB chargers under some seats. all the units have special “Electric bus” decals on the sides and a green wrap with the TTC’s Electric logo on it. They feature manual heating and cooling controlled by the driver and can last up to 8 hours on a charge.
