Retrontario | TORONTO - TERRORISTS THREATEN TO BLOW UP TTC (APRIL 2, 1985) @Retrontario | Uploaded February 2024 | Updated October 2024, 4 days ago.
A threat to blow up Toronto’s extensive public transit system put the city into an unprecedented state of alert Monday as thousands of police, security agents and dogs patrolled the bus and subway systems while riders stayed away in large numbers.
Several hours after the time set by the threat for the explosions, nothing had happened, and police reported finding no trace of bombs or other devices.
A group identifying itself as the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Our Homeland sent a letter containing the threat to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
And here is Loyd Robertson!
Retrontario’s primary mission is the preservation, research and exhibition of rare videotape recordings (1970s to 1990s) recorded off of any and all Ontario (and surrounding area) TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. We also hope to create an ongoing oral history of this content through comments left below the videos. Please add to this evolving history, if you know more information pertaining to the clips, fondly remember them or have a modern thought all comments are welcome!
