Here is my review of "Prince of Thorns" by Mark Lawrence. "Prince of Thorns" is the first entry in the broken empire Grimdark Fantasy series. This is one of my favorite books of all time.

This is a tale of revenge. The tone is dark and violent, so obviously, if you're not into to that you'll have a hard time with this book.

Personally, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Prince Honorous Jorg Ancrath is a ruthless protagonist. Jorg's thoughts are often philosophical and entertaining. He leads a gang of violent criminals on a mission to avenge his mother and little brother
