Here are our student Ayesha’s top 5 tips and why she chose Northumbria. 👇
✏️ Look at university rankings for the course you’re interested in.
✏️ Be realistic, have backup choices with entry requirements you’re likely to meet.
✏️ Read course descriptions carefully.
✏️ Consider location and distance from home.
✏️ Visit universities if you can, Open Days are a great way to get a feel for campus life.
✏️ Explore the sports and societies on offer.
For applicants applying in the 2026 UCAS cycle, the deadline to guarantee your application is considered is 14 January 2026 at 6pm.
Courses may close after this date so your application may not be considered if there are no places available. At Northumbria most courses remain open for the full UCAS cycle but some courses may close after this date, these would typically be Professional Health courses like Midwifery or Physiotherapy so we recommend applying before the deadline where possible.
