Bernie Wrightson Top 10 Comic Book Covers!
That's right, it's another TOP TEN COMIC LIST to feed the algorithm!
Berni Wrightson, co-created Swamp Thing with Len Wein and he's one of my favorite artists, so enjoy as I bring you the 10 best covers according to me!
Bernie Wrightson (1948–2017) was a renowned American artist best known for his masterful work in the horror genre, particularly in comic books and illustrations. He gained early fame for his detailed, gothic-style artwork in Swamp Thing, which he co-created with writer Len Wein in 1972. Wrightson’s intricate linework and ability to evoke dark, atmospheric moods made him a standout in the comic book industry.
He also contributed to House of Mystery, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Punisher, and his horror illustrations were featured in numerous magazines and books. Wrightson's work on Frankenstein, an illustrated edition of Mary Shelley's novel, is considered one of his greatest achievements, showcasing his ability to bring literary horror to life with exceptional detail.
Beyond comics, Wrightson’s contributions to film, such as designing creatures and producing concept art for films like The Mist and Ghostbusters 2, cemented his legacy as a master of dark art. His influence continues to inspire artists in both comic and horror circles.
