Adding a portable multi-voltage portable refrigerator freezer to increase space is essential when living in an RV with a smaller refrigerator. This portable 12 volt RV refrigerator freezer operates on 12/24 volt DC power and 100-240v AC power. Since we like to boondock quite a bit, it was important for us to find a 12 volt portable RV refrigerator freezer to compliment the one we have in our motorhome. It also had to be efficient enough to be powered by the solar energy system in our coach. Key features we looked for were: compact, lightweight, low energy usage and excellent performance. This video is an update to our earlier video where we shared the unfortunate news about the problem we were having with the Triton V10 engine in our Winnebago motorhome.
We had so many people reach out offering help, support and suggestions after we discovered the engine in our motorhome developed a knock. Ultimately, we took it to The Engine Builders, which is an engine specialty shop in Glendale, Arizona. It took about 5 minutes for Dave to diagnose the the problem. Daves diagnosis was a failed piston due to overheating which was most likely caused by a faulty fuel injector on cylinder #7. The knocking sound heard in the first video was indeed the piston skirt slapping the cylinder wall! Though not a catastrophic failure, it certainly could have lead to serious problems if not corrected so we took Daves advise and had them rebuild the engine. It took just four days for them to disassemble the front of the coach, remove and rebuild the engine, then reassemble the front of the coach! Not that is service!

We are empty nesters who quit our corporate jobs, sold our home and auctioned off just about everything we own to live a simpler, more purposeful life. As Full Time RVers, our goal is to experience life and make awesome RV lifestyle videos for our community. We decided to retire from life as we knew it so we traded our stuff for experiences. We travel in a 34 foot, 2008 Winnebago Motorhome with a preference for boondocking (dry camping). We vlog, blog and update social media with our RV travel experiences, advice and challenges with a goal of helping other RVers along the way - find beautiful places to stay and save money by seeking out low cost campgrounds and awesome boondocking sites. The full time RV life is a great way to live, but its not without its challenges. We plan to share those with you and offer advice along the way.
