The decade started with Pink Floyd at No 1 and ended with a cover of the Best Selling Single of the '80's produced by the most successful songwriting trio of the decade....Do They Know It's Christmas and Stock, Aitken and Waterman. A much maligned year as a result, but the cultural landscape was on shifting sands, a new decade, in eager anticipation of those changes to come. A huge global event took place in November of this year, the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the Communist Block. While in the U.K the young and dance floor lovers were having the time of their lifes. Little did we know the following decade would look nothing like this one.....musically and socially. These are 30 performances from across the year 1989. A loving goodbye to all who performed through any of these years, on any episode....the 80's.... musically the best!
