What happens when you take one of the most iconic 80s movie songs and squeeze it into the sound chip of a 1982 home computer? 😅
This is my Commodore 64 SID version of Danger Zone from the legendary movie Top Gun.
The original track by Kenny Loggins is pure 80s adrenaline — roaring jet fighters, high-speed dogfights and that unforgettable synth-rock energy. Translating that into just 3 voices of the SID chip is… well… a challenge.
But that’s exactly what makes it fun.
The Commodore 64 was never meant to sound like a full rock band, yet the legendary MOS Technology SID somehow manages to capture the spirit of the original in its own gritty 8-bit way.
So the real question is:
How is this even possible on a C64?!
Turn up the volume, imagine the afterburners igniting, and enjoy this retro flight into the Danger Zone. ✈️🔥
