Welcome to my BRUTAL SHMUPS series, this time with my Top 5 Hardest Shoot Em Ups on the Mega Drive. Every episode I cover a new console focusing on the hardest, most brutal Top 5 Shooters on the system. The Mega Drive / Sega Genesis was a smorgasbord of shooters during the early 90s with over 60 shmups released for the system. It was a gaming console that did a good job catering to shoot em up enthusiasts so Sega, TechnoSoft, Taoplan, Compile, and other developers pulled no punches in releasing some of the hardest shmups of the time. Two games that I would have loved to include were Gaiares and Twin Cobra, a couple of other brutal shoot-em-ups on the Mega Drive. So stay tuned for a follow up video for gameplay of those and to see if either can dethrone my Top 5 picks.
