An edge cancel (Also called Ledge cancel) is when you position your character to slide right off the platform edge, removing all lag and allowing you to do whatever you want right after, generally players will use it to style on their opponent, doing double aerials or illusions/phantasms into an aerial for extra style points, Westballz really seems to love doing this the most out of any player, he does it so well and quite frequently.
