We are all familiar with the concept of the auteur... of an artist with a larger-than-life or over-the-top personality that takes their craft super-seriously. With this video, I wanted to celebrate the people who embody the auteur concept best in the world of video games.

Warren Spector - Primarily for what he did with Ultima and Deus Ex. What he did with Ultima is raise the bar for storytelling, permitting more in-depth narratives in gaming. This reached its apotheosis in Deus Ex 1, which I think has not only one of the best stories in gaming, but is just one of the best games ever made.

Tim Schaefer - His inclusion is motivated for his idiosyncratic style and his ability to shift between a variety of different types of projects.
