Traveling across Switzerland for the past 5 years and even in 2024, there were many new places to discover! In this video, I present you the TOP 10 Switzerland places, I have visited in the year 2024. Some places might be new to you, thus, let yourself being inspired for your upcoming Switzerland trip. Lenzerheide is a Winter village in Switzerland, popular for skiing but also great for light festivals or night sledding. The Zauberwald is a light festival held within an enchanted forest full of beautifully lit up sculptures. The lightride is the real-life version of Mario kart, a colorful toboggan run and a must-try for action lovers! The Rhinefalls are among the most famous waterfalls of Switzerland. Normally during Summer, they do not have too much water, in June 2024, however, there were severe floods and the Rhinefalls were absolutely spectacular. The amount of water was absolutely incredible, which attracted numerous visitors. The Sitterschlucht in Appenzell is a secret tip on this list, a beginner’s canyoneering trail within a gorge along a calm creek. Even during peak season in Summer, the Sitterschlucht will not be full with people, thus consider going there. The exact location is on Pioneer Maps (get the “Pro” expansion). Saas-Fee/Saastal is a fantastic region for hiking, especially during Summer and Autumn. During Autumn, there will be less people but that’s just perfect to enjoy the serenity. Hiking was great at the Mattmark dam and Kreuzboden. The views were spectacular and the shine of the turquoise water stunning. A great and cost-effective place to stay is the Hotel Kristall-Saphir in Saas-Almagell (sponsored content). The 1st of August is the Swiss national day. Festivities are held everywhere, specially great however is the parade in Champéry. The festive atmosphere in the village is absolutely incredible, endlessly decorated with Swiss flags and a joyous parade crossing the village’s alley. The Schreyenbachfalls of Glarus are quite unique. Not only is it a uniquely beautiful waterfall, no, the waterfall is only visible for 45 days a year! This makes it imperative to travel to Glarus during July to see one of the most wonderful waterfalls of Switzerland. The waterfall can be combined with the scenic pass road called Klausenpass. Quite a discovery was the upper part of the Val d’Hérens. A very scenic hike from Ferpècle up to the river delta and the glaciers is one of the best secret tips for people who love it more quiet up in the Alps. A visit to this place is not only going to give you the peaceful mood, it’s also free, except for the transportation costs (fuel or bus ticket). Toggenburg is one of the most beautiful regions in all of Switzerland. I witnessed one of the most beautiful views up on the Chäserrugg and Hinterrugg, a perfect panorama with the Churfirsten, lake Walensee and the Alpstein mountains with the Säntis. Down at Unterwasser are furthermore the Thurfälle, which easily belong to Switzerland’s most beautiful waterfalls. The Lauterbrunnen without tourists can be found in Unterschächen. The valley also has plenty of waterfalls, but is considerably greener and rawer. A very scenic hike takes you through the valley along the river to the cabin station to access the Sittlisalp. This is one of the best places to be visited up on the Alps. It’s very peaceful up there, and you will be among the locals only. There are over 100 fantastic spots to take a bath in natural pools, rivers or beneath waterfalls. These spots will be uncovered in upcoming videos for channel members.

Cloud 9 is here up on the Eggishorn! On a beautiful Sunday during October, my friend and me experienced the unexpected! Wanting to hike down to the Aletsch glacier from the Eggishorn, we instead arrived up in the snow, just standing right above the foggy sea. It was the kind of day to go for Plan B… but interestingly, Plan B happened to be even better than Plan A! Being surrounded by a mystical landscape of sea of clouds, the day eventually happened to be perfectly different!

Switzerland is very exciting to be visited during Summer (June, July, August and September) since pretty much all of the attractions are open. The country will be fully green, the days long and the weather warm. There will usually be a lot of sun and you can enjoy fantastic views over the Swiss Alps, roam around villages or cities or do more adventurous activities. Zurich is great to be visited during Summer, it’s warm, vibrant and there will be a lot of street cafes. Stroll through the alleys and walk along the Limmat quay or hang out at the Bellevue to enjoy Lake Zurich and the view to the Swiss Alps. The Rhone glacier at the Furka passroad is a highlight during Summer. You can visit the ice cave inside the glacier and overall enjoy a great drive up to the pass and down to the canton of Valais. You may also go for the Furka steam railway train that is one of the best nostalgic attractions of Switzerland. The rhinefalls is the highest river waterfall of Europe. It can be visited from the side of Schaffhausen or Zurich, where the first one is in general better. You can take the boat to the rock and stand in the middle of the waterfall. Otherwise take a boat to the side of Zurich, enjoy the views from the balconies and head up to the castle. Lake Lugano region is very exciting during Summer. You can visit the town of Lugano, head up to Mount San Salvatore or have a quiet time at the villages of Morcote or Gandria. Lugano is one of the most visited Swiss cities during Summer. The Giessbach falls are one of the best in all of Switzerland. There are 14 waterfalls that enchant any visitor. There is also the oldest still operating funicular of Switzerland and a nostalgic hotel. The grand hotel Giessbach. The interior is very beautiful and romantic. The Lavaux are the Swiss vineyard terraces at Lake Geneva. There are many great hiking trails among the vineyards and also the villages of Epesses and Saint-Saphorin. Besides the wine terraces you can also visit the Château de Chillon, Switzerland’s most beautiful castle by the lake. The Valle Verzasca is in Ticino and is the home to some of the best bathing places in Switzerland. There is the village of Lavertezzo that charms with its roman bridge and the clear waters. Also, visit the villages of Corippo and Sonogno, true gems in the Verzasca Valley. You may also go for a bungee jump at the Verzasca dam that is only possible to do during Summer in Switzerland. The Oeschinensee is one of the top attractions in all of Switzerland during Summer. Here you can have one of the best hikes and views in the Swiss Alps. The lake is very beautiful with its striking color but also enjoy the panorama with the Alps and the roller coaster that is just next to the cabin station. The Lauterbrunnen Valley, the valley of 72 waterfalls is one of the most visited regions in Switzerland during Summer. Many people come to Lauterbrunnen to see the many waterfalls, head up to Jungfrau or the Schilthorn. The village of Lauterbrunnen is also enchanting. The most beautiful place among the top 10 during Summer in Switzerland is the Aletsch Glacier. Here you can have one of the best alpine panoramas, see the massive bent of the glacier from the Eggishorn and have a great hike down to the eternal ice. The Aletsch glacier is the largest glacier of the Alps, 23 km of natural ice!

Switzerland is often considered the reservoir of Europe, as there are many glaciers from which the rivers originate. Each of them gets fed with water from the many creeks present in the Swiss Alps. The water sometimes has to quite find its way to reach the next larger river, it needs to pass gorges, forests or drops from the rocks down into the valleys. Where can you find the many waterfalls of Switzerland? There are countless of them, plenty in the wonderful Bernese Oberland (Berner Oberland), around lake Brienz, in the many valleys, such as in the Simmental and of course in the Lauterbrunnen valley. In only that valley, there are 72 waterfalls! Among these 72 waterfalls you may find the Staubbach Falls of Lauterbrunnen, which are considered an Instagram wonder of Switzerland. They are one of the most photographed subjects. But there are 71 more waterfalls in the Lauterbrunnen valley to explore: Mürrenbachfalls, Mattenbachfalls, Trümmelbachfalls and many more! Fascinating! This FEBRUARY Travel Guide Video will tell you ALL WHAT you NEED to KNOW! February marks the peak of Winter in Switzerland. It’s a great month to travel; in many aspects one of the best times of the year to visit Switzerland! During February, the chances to see snow are very high, certainly up in the Swiss Alps! The mountains and slopes are going to be covered with loads of snow. Even down in the Swiss plains, there are chances to experience snowfall. Enjoy these days as they will not last for very long. The weather is rather dry, it’s very often going to be sunny with a clear blue sky. The views during February are fantastic, especially up in the Swiss Alps. When visiting Zermatt, you will get a high chance to get a clear view over the Matterhorn, something that is not always guaranteed. In general, February is the month to enjoy the panoramas up on the alpine villages of the summits. February marks also a peak season for travellers who visit Switzerland. This mainly affects the Swiss Alps due to the Winter season. Many people from abroad come for their skiing holidays, but the majority will still be locals. February has often the best conditions for skiers but also for sledding! The hotels are often going to be fully booked, thus book months in advance and also be prepared for increased prices. February is rather expensive up in the Swiss Alps but not down in the plains. During February you may also enjoy plenty of seasonal Winter dishes such as crêpe, Raclette, Fondue Chinoise and cheese fondue; the latter being the Swiss national dish. Definitely, February is a great month for foodie travelers! For those who love culture: February is one of the most cultural months of the year! It’s carnival everywhere, each location having their own unique form. Tschäggättä in the mystical Lötschental is one of the most ancient forms of carnival still being very much celebrated or then the largest carnivals of Luzern and Basel marking other cultural highlights in Switzerland. February is also a great month for sunsets, make sure to stay up in the snowy Swiss Alps to enjoy a very colorful environment. Almost all passroads will be closed, you may have to take the car train tunnels that cost but at least will save you some time. Beware they get very busy during the weekends, especially on Sunday evening! All in all, February is a great month to visit Switzerland, surely going to give you many unforgettable memories!
