5) Coming in at number 5 is respiratory cancers. The respiratory cancers consist of Tracheaa, bronchus and lung cancer and are responsible for 1.6 million deaths per year. The main causes of this type of cancer are smoking, second-hand smoke, and environmental toxins.

4) At number 4 in the countdown of the most deadliest diseases in modern history is Lower Respiratory Infections. This group of diseases includes pneumonia, bronchitis, and influenza. The WHO estimates a whopping 3.1 million people that sercum to these type of diseases.

Coronary Artery Disease, also called Ischemic Heart Disease, occurs when the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart become narrowed. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about 7.4 million people died of ischemic heart disease in 2012. That was about 13.2 percent of all deaths.
