Summoning a ton of monsters is integral to most decks gameplan. As a result, turning off the ability for the opponent to perform those summons is incredibly disruptive. Even restricting the number of summons your opponent performs can still be enough to change the direction of a game, leading many cards with this exact effect to have a splash in competitive.

In Duel Links, Droll & Lock Bird is bad and Invoked Cocytus is permabanned. Téa Gardner broke the game with a skill, and Scud is a playable character. Weevil Underwood canonically dueled and lost to Celina from Yu-Gi-Oh 5D’s. We’ve already gone over ten forgotten decks from the TCG that were competitive threats in Duel Links, but that only scratched the surface, so now it’s time to round up ten more.
