ToonSquid animation using Procreate art
1. use new or existing Procreate artwork and either use layers to make new canvases or chop art into layers for new canvases
2. for each new canvas; digitally resize and “fussy cut” shape to be animated = make a transparent PNG of that canvas, save in Photos
3. in ToonSquid’s timeline tap “+” to add an image layer and select a PNG file; this is the background or animation layer; resize & position first frame
4. extend the number of frames, so there are frames to animate
5. tap on the first frame then tap🔹which looks more like ↕️ = keyframe, a list of properties appear beneath that layer, then click on “position” row ... now move it around and dots will show indicating how it will be animated
6. repeat steps 3. thru 5. for each layer to be animated
I am sure there are other, maybe better, ways to get from Procreate to ToonSquid, but this is what works for me. I still have a lot to learn, even about 2D animation and ToonSquid.
