For many bowhunters, an Alaska moose hunting trip is at the top of their bucket list. But for Chevie Roach, it's just another day. Living in a remote Alaskan village, where the only groceries come by plane, Chevie and his family rely on moose meat to get them through the long Alaskan winters. Hunting, in large part, has become just another job, not unlike grocery shopping that any city dweller might do. Recently, however, Chevie was introduced to traditional bowhunting and I got to join him on his first big game hunt with his recurve bow. For Chevie, it's brought the fun and joy back into hunting. We had some great spot and stalk moose hunting and got close enough to make Chevie pee his pants a little, haha.
