Tony Akel is the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award for the Lyles College of Engineering.
As president of Akel Engineering Group, Inc., he has 38 years of professional experience leading more than 300 system master planning and special study projects throughout California and across the United States. His firm is recognized as an industry leader in digital water engineering, creating integrated infrastructure plans for water, sewer, and storm systems.
Beyond his professional success, Tony remains deeply connected to Fresno State—serving on advisory boards and giving back to the university and community that helped shape his future.
