it seems like every athens-focused piece or animation i do is about the Incident, he has a lot more stuff going on but idk i guess thats his most exciting aspect to portray. but anyway this particular scene actually isnt supposed to appear in the actual story so you might not see it again after this video
rundown of whats going on if ur curious: athens walks in on the covert assassination of his mentor by none other than ser's bond. instead of running away or defending himself, he chooses to burn down the study, along with any evidence of ser's involvement.
by the way, i went to all this trouble of making sure the mentors' clothes were historically accurate, making sure the door lock mechanism was accurate (a much easier way to do it would be having him lock a deadbolt, but i think it would be an anachronism) and then i turn around and have him use a modern match because im too lazy to illustrate him using magic. pretty sure bce1 predates the discovery of phosphorus too
