We are visiting Tom's rice farm for an equipment tour of his tractors, harvest combines, implements and his rice mill.
Tom farms 1,300 acres of medium grain rice in Willows, California. Aside from an equipment tour we're also going to see Tom's onsite rice dryer and storage facility. He's loading his trucks and trailers with rice that is to be delivered to a California mill.
Tom also has his own artisanal rice mill that he dedicates to milling his own small 60 acre organic rice field. We'll tour through the mill a bit and see it in action. Tom markets his freshly milled organic rice locally as Chico Rice.
