The classical hit “Timeless”, composed by Ron J Danziger with lyrics by Christina Teenz Tan, was arranged and orchestrated by Manu Martin and recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Following its release, the song achieved a classical No. 1 in multiple territories across the globe (UK, Singapore & the Philippines) and No. 5 (USA, Canada & Australia). Britain's Got Talent & America’s Got Talent Superstar Tom Ball was backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Voices, and the ALAN team's musicians: Jerome Buigues (guitar), Frederic Riviere (bass), and Jean-Luc Veran (drums).
The song is an original composition from ALAN I: Fantasy of Companionship, part of the wider ALAN Trilogy project created by Susan Lim and Christina Teenz Tan. While the Trilogy explores major issues of today - including loneliness, climate challenges, and our place in the cosmos - the song “Timeless” is about a companionship between a human and an AI-enabled inanimate object as they reflect on the changing seasons. The lyrics open with "the seasons make a fool of me, they tell me things and go suddenly..," which reflects on the profound changes in our climate. Lyricist Christina Teenz Tan adds, “Timeless is a song for the seasons. It’s a song that encapsulates the preciousness of a bond, a friendship, and companionship, one that transcends time, culture, societies, and the human experience.”
The music video, directed by Susan Lim, captures the entirety of this intimate live performance in Abbey Road's historic Studio One. Among the full capacity of musicians and crew, the video poignantly documents lyricist Christina Teenz Tan's parents - executive producers Deepak and Susan - holding hands as they stood among the orchestra. Tom Ball delivered a deeply moving ballad that left the room spellbound.
Beyond its public themes, "Timeless" holds deeply personal significance for its artists. For Tom Ball and his wife Hannah, the song serves as the soundtrack to their IVF journey, which joyfully resulted in the birth of their baby, Adeline.
