Tolstoy was one of the most influential writers. Although he hated his “War and Peace” and “Anna Karenina”, he wanted to ensure that everybody who wanted to read his books could do so for free.
Here are some book recommendations on where you could start with Tolstoy, if you want to become familiar with works.

1. The Death of Ivan Ilyich
2. The Kreutzer Sonata
3. Father Sergius
4. The Living Corpse
5. A Confession
6. What I Believe

P.S. I love Anna Karenina and War and Peace, but they would be the obvious answer to the question...

This is the third part of KLASSIK, a series that will, hopefully, inspire you to read Russian classics.
