Thus this MAP demands much less of participants than my usual projects; PMV is expected, and as long as you follow the basic rules and get done ON TIME things should be smooth sailing. 「FUNNY THING ABOUT OPINIONS」Anything Palette MAP - Part 16『FNaF』 EidolonEntropy 2024-02-09 | CW: it's the springlock scene in all its bloody, albeit stylised, glory.CLEAN CUT PART: youtu.be/aSETSm_TMCE More brainrot? Yeah you betcha, not as happy with this one but it scratches the itch. I wanted to show this iconic scene (and have the ourple guy bleed ourple) but it's not so easy a task when the only way this was portrayed in canon was in (poorly made) 8-bit minigames. I tried synthesising what my ideal portrayal of the games' springlock scene is with some iconography from the movie's for easy identification. It's not perfect, and it relies on the Toy Chica methods theory being correct, but honestly what part of the games can you feasibly portray without some degree of headcanon? Been doing a lot of red palettes recently so here's some blue representation, with another Joywave MAP because of course I would. This is not the last you'll see of either of those - stay tuned. 「SECRETS」OC Palette MAP - Part 3 EidolonEntropy 2024-02-05 | Collab part: showing the two halves of Entoz'ia through art style!CLEAN CUT PART: youtu.be/9R0fR2hgIzY B here. The original intent for this part was to have Entropy drawn by Myth and Eidolon drawn by myself, as a way of making the swap more visually distinct due to the MAP palette. This didn't pan out as intended because Myth wasn't able to get the linework done in time, so it ended up being all done by me based on Myth's sketches and style. The intended effect was probably lost but eh, I gave it my best shot. This is a little peek into the relationship between Entoz'ia and Tsara. The latter is a bounty hunter who was given the former as a target, but the two ended up bonding before she was aware of this. Eidolon knew of the danger and stayed away from Tsara, knowing their identity would tip her off, while Entropy got to know her, becoming close friends. I had some difficulties editing this in a way that looked alright, I might end up redoing the final shot's editing before the MAP releases to clean up some of its wonkiness. 「NA NA NA」WoF Crossover MAP - Part 24『Devil May Cry x Wings of Fire』 EidolonEntropy 2023-05-22 | The behind the scenes of the production of this part was chronicled over at my art blog! battaliaart.tumblr.com/tagged/Na%20Na%20Na%2024CLEAN CUT PART: youtu.be/GW0Juk9rgJA I did not lie, Ten Plagues will still be the last WoF content I produce, but here's a funny little crossover in the meantime. I've had this part for over a year and the project's been on hold for a while, but there was no better time than now to get it done and over with. This is a WoF crossover MAP; I chose to portray the iconic Temen-Ni-Gru fight between Dante and Vergil from Devil May Cry 3. There's tons of reasoning behind the creative choices I made in the crossover, far too many to list here, check out the above link if you're interested. I went very ambitious with this one, combining the new processes I tried out with Plagues 15 with my usual insane wizardry. For the first time I managed to successfully pull off a 2.5D background, and rain effects make their return since all the way back in Not Evil 16. This part is a departure from my typical 60fps work, a necessary choice for the animation style. Overall it was super fun to do and the result is stunning, one of my favourite parts in a while. With her weaker magic, she was powerless to stop him. Battalia would spend many seasons at the bottom of the lake in stasis, with the rest of the world assuming her dead. Couldn't pass that up. I love this MAP concept to bits, and it's produced one of my favorite parts I've done in a while. Plus it's my first frame by frame thing I've done in a hot sec and if you ask me it turned out pretty fancy for my first time doing wind physics. So why, you might ask, didn't I use frame by frame for the entire part? The answer is quite simple really, and it can be summed up as follows: it took just over two weeks of work to animate the eight moving layers of the second scene. When looking at my two key sketches for the third scene, I realized it would be rather difficult to properly place all the moving parts, not to mention the result would likely be uncanny, whereas a bone rig would simplify the process tenfold. I shipped the sketches over to Moho and finished the scene in less than eight hours. Note this: I do not sell myself with my frame by frame work. It is not my focus nor my wheelhouse; my future is in computational animation and editing. Do I feel this part would have been better if it was 100% frame by frame? Sure. Would I have been able to perform to the degree of quality I expect from my work? Likely not. Thus it doesn't bother me.Want to read about us? This is one of those, the last before this being Giorno's Theme about two years ago. They did the animation/editing of this piece, the lineart on the Disavows + scythes of the tri-section frame, isolated scythe, and had the idea of making/did the shattered heart pop-up after Disavow slashes down :D!!!Featured in this part are two of my characters: Disavow and [Soul]. The latter at the moment doesn’t have a solid name since the character itself is primarily the same soul being reincarnated over and over again rather than an individual/the same being. Disavow became obsessed with immortality in their human life and was driven to insanity by it, attempting anything to achieve it. They also wished to somehow turn their partner immortal too, idolizing a future where the two lived happily for eternity. However, [Soul] wanted nothing to do with this and Disavow kept their research secret from them. Eventually, Disavow gave up on trying to use more physical means (medicines and such) and turned to spiritual ones, attempting various rituals at increasing intensity. This would soon lead to the confrontation shown in part 12.Miraculously, [Soul] survives, but with blood spilt from both parties and half of the intended sacrifices perishing, the ritual somewhat works, granting both immortality- just not in a way either would’ve expected. Disavow’s soul reforms into their current iteration: an ever-living being constructed of pure obsession and hatred, filled with bloodlust; their only goal in mind to kill their partner as they views their objection to the ritual as the “ultimate betrayal”. They see their act of killing them as almost a twisted “act of mercy”, believing they are sparing them from a worse fate and that by doing this they’ll complete the ritual, making everything “forgiven”. In contrast, while still purely mortal in body, [Soul’s] spirit is left able to continuously reincarnate. This is something discovered after Disavow kills the initial [Soul] in the hospital scene. Once they kill them, Disavow goes dormant, waiting for their spirit to rejoin theirs. However, suddenly two decades later they sense a new being with a very familiar energy (and the cycle continues)…(While the new being never has the memories of the old, they still get hunches based off of similar scenarios they have lived in the past. For instance, both parties can sense the other whenever nearby, however only Disavow knows everything while [Soul] can only get hunches that something is chasing them, and wants them dead.)This story is definitely one still in progress, but that’s the short of what these parts are about :O //M Want to read about us?
