I Just got a slim PS3 (as my original's disc reader had broke), so I decided to see just how much faster the slim is (if at all). For Tokyo Jungle, these are the results. I'm secretly glad my original broke now...
So from this, it seems that the slim PS3 is faster with every loading screen. However, it seems to start loading later than the original (but still manages to be faster). It's difficulty seems to be with loading cinematics/cutscenes, which in some cases could make the original the same, if not slightly faster (for example, the end of Act 11 which has multiple cutscenes). Notice how going back to the main menu has a good second or two difference after dying in survival mode, but due to the added cutscene at the end of Act 1, they're barely a second apart. So while this hurts the slim's case, it is most certainly faster overall. I managed to PB in Act% by two minutes on the slim with a very mediocre run, so that pretty much proves it. And that was Act%, which unlike Any%, does not reap the rewards of the 5-6 seconds faster entering survival mode loading times.
Note that Tokyo Jungle is downloadable only (outside of Asia at least) which is why I was able to make the comparison.
