Token Resizing is here on D&D Beyond Maps, giving DMs more control over the creatures, characters, and colossal threats that hit the battlefield. Make tokens bigger. Make them smaller. Match the moment, shape the scene, and bring your encounters closer to the story in your head.
In this D&D Beyond Deep Dive, we walk through two major updates now live in Maps VTT: the arrival of token resizing and the next version of Journals, featuring the new Edit Mode. Token resizing lets you override the default size of any token directly in Maps, one of our most requested community features, now ready for your next session.
We also dive into Journal Edit Mode, built to help DMs prep faster, remember more, and keep the story alive between sessions. Open your campaign journal, toggle edit mode, and refine your entries with more context, formatting, headers, bullets, numbering, colors, and links to helpful references. When you switch maps during a session, Journals can even add the new map name as a header, turning quick notes into a clearer campaign record you can revisit later.
