The AMA, the Permanent Mission of Canada to the OAS, and the Embassy of Canada in the United States have been working on the exhibition, Together: 30 years of Canada at the OAS, which was planned to open at the Embassy of Canada in May, but has been postponed until next year. Taking advantage of this exhibition, AMA and the Permanent Mission, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, launch the exhibition as an #AMAatHome program.
On January 8, 1990, after 28 years as an observer, Canada became a member of the Organization of American States (OAS). Since joining the OAS in 1990, Canada has made significant contributions to the OAS’s collective achievements, including through the establishment of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, the adoption of the Social Charter of the Americas. Throughout this period, Canada has been a steadfast partner in the advancement of human rights, gender equality, and democracy, all the while working to strengthen the OAS as an institution so that it may play an effective and constructive role as the premier multilateral forum in the hemisphere.
Curated by Pansee Atta, this exhibition is comprised of pieces of AMA’s permanent collection donated to the AMA by the Canada Council for the Arts. The pieces respond to the core issues that Canada prioritizes at the OAS, such as human rights, inclusion, gender equality, and democracy, with an added emphasis on Indigenous issues and climate change, featuring artists such as Daphne Odjig, Rita Letendre, Joyce Wieland, Pierre Ayot, Victoria Mamnguqsualuk, Jackson Beardy, K.M. Graham, Suzy Lake, and John Greer.

L’AMA, la Mission permanente du Canada auprès de l’OEA et l’ambassade du Canada aux États-Unis ont travaillé ensemble sur l’exposition Ensemble : les 30 ans du Canada à l’OEA, qui devait s’ouvrir à l’ambassade du Canada au mois de mai, mais qui a été reportée à l’année suivante. C’est pour tirer profit de cette exposition que l’AMA et la Mission avec le soutien du Conseil des Arts du Canada ont lancé l’exposition dans le cadre d’un programme #AMAchezsoi.
Le 8 janvier 1990, après 28 ans à titre d'observateur, le Canada est devenu membre de l'Organisation des États américains (OEA). Depuis son adhésion à l'OEA en 1990, le Canada a apporté une contribution importante aux réalisations collectives de l'OEA, notamment par l'établissement de la Charte démocratique interaméricaine, l'adoption de la Charte sociale des Amériques et l'élaboration d'une Déclaration sur la sécurité dans le Amériques. Tout au long de cette période, le Canada a été un partenaire inébranlable dans la promotion des droits de la personne, de l'égalité des sexes et de la démocratie, tout en s'efforçant de renforcer l'OEA en tant qu'institution afin qu'elle puisse jouer un rôle efficace et constructif en tant que principal forum multilatéral l'hémisphère.
Organisé par Pansee Atta, l’exposition se compose d’œuvres de la collection permanente de l’AMA, offertes par le Conseil des arts du Canada.
