Struggling with the TOEFL Writing for an Academic Discussion task?
Hereβs a simple 3-step structure you can use every time!
Step 1: Answer the question directly. Keep it simple and avoid overly complex vocabulary. Clarity is key.
Step 2: Give a reason for your opinion. Ask yourself: Why do I feel this way? Then write a sentence or two to explain it.
Step 3: Back up your reason with an example. Ask yourself: How can I prove my point? Use either a short personal story or a general example. At this stage, you can also include 2-3 topic-specific words.
