“Digital Noise Alliance”, the new offering from Queensrÿche, will be released on October 07th via Century Media. Produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who was also at the helm on the band’s two previous albums, "Condition Hüman" and "The Verdict", it contains eleven tracks of original material, and some editions will also feature a cover of Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell”.
The new album is the band’s fourth release with Todd La Torre on vocals, and also brings contributions from guitarist Mike Stone, who had played with the band between 2003 and 2009. Casey Grillo makes his recording debut with Queensrÿche, while Michael Wilton (lead guitar) and Eddie Jackson (bass) remain the only two original members. “Digital Noise Alliance”, or “DNA” for short, was born out of a unique process, where the band started to jam and brought in Zeuss at the early stages of compositions, to trim the fat and suggest new turns as the material was being written. The end result sees them exceeding their musical grasp, while honoring their legacy.
From the fast-paced “In Extremis” through the heaviness of “Sicdeth” or the melancholic “Forest”, there’s something on the album for fans of every aspect of Queensrÿche’s music. With a career spanning almost forty years, it would be easy to rest on their laurels and draw too much from the past, but instead the band chooses to thread new grounds, proving once again their staying power and unyielding commitment to their craft.
Sonic Perspectives collaborator Rodrigo Altaf caught up with the band’s front-man Todd La Torre, and they discussed the new album, his solo output, the current state of music and several more topics.
