The region broke out in a massive Pokemon battle between Fire-types and Water-types. But it quickly escalated into a war, drafting trainers over 18, and everyone attempting to complete the Pokedex for one major reason: to help the professor put an end to the civil war.
Now from the Fire Types' perspective, especially on the Fire Team, they do not agree with their leader, Gabe Alphonse. Any signs of rebellion will probably get them killed.

Claude the Not-At-All-Creepy Possum spends her time making artwork, and shes such a great artist that she got an offer from the BAYC, the Beginning Artist Youth Community to present her works! However, shes among those who know the backstory behind the community: it was a cult full of art thieves, scammers, and conmen.
Claude decided to accept their offer and make a painting dedicated to the ugly truth behind the cult, pay painting a gruesome demise of the former members in one specific event caused by them: The Great Ape Massacre of 1997. Where all primates killed each other so that their artwork can be noticed. Apparently, Claudes presentation was so disturbing that she got banned from the BAYC, and shall never return again.
