The Soul Set Free: A Spoken Word
My greatest desire, my life work is to see the soul set free, the lost return home, and the weary to find rest. There is no greater Joy. Eternal. There is no greater calling, to bear the burdens of the soul. To patiently walk with those in the dark once you have already found the light. To carry the cross, to wear the crown. Less like a thoroughbred and more like a vessel. Picked last on earth but chosen in heaven. At first sight Empty but soon to be filled. You, me, them, open to all, closed in time. It’s not about the depth of the journey but the existence of one. The only one.
The bridge onto the island. The vastness of the ocean. Restricting for some an oasis for others. A place, a safe place. No more coming and going. Constant. Eternal. A space to dwell forever. Freedoms never felt so free, at least for me. Now, how about you? Open the cage, let it out, the good, the bad. The soul made to fly free but bound in time. For a time. If you only knew, I had my doubts too. On the ledge, the fall seems far but the flight is free. For a time. The darkness, Nothing to fear but the start of something new. Now, how about you? Should you? That’s not for me to answer but for you.
