ABOUT THE SERIES:
"Meet The Crotoonians" is an exciting companion series to "The Railways of Crotoonia" web series, introducing the ragtag cast of Crotoonia to unfamiliar audiences through a day in their lives. But their lives are never a dull moment, and each two/three-minute episode is full of adventure and surprises! From the steam engines to the mermaids, these are the ones who call Crotoonia home!

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
And to conclude this year's Meet the Crotoonians Weekends tentpole...a very different kind of story.
Early on this year when we began developing the plan for this year's videos and tentpoles, I brewed up the idea of a short about Audrey, a character I had VERY much wanted to explore more for a while.
Upon realizing this would need a very different flavor, I approached my friend @DukeOfBenreBay with an offer for a script and a simple outline:
"Audrey is sent with Old Slow Coach on a special excursion to Gridinia Bay with an important passenger. As she moves along, she tells herself a poem about why she loves the railway line she calls home."
Within the day, I got one of the most beautiful scripts I've been proud to put to animation.
Duke really knows how to make characters "tick" and dive more into deeper territory many wouldn't usually think of, which made such an unusual character for Crotoonia like Audrey the perfect fit for them to tackle. From that one simple sentence, Audrey's first appearance, and some simple character facts, they were able to create a wonderful short discussing identity, how we fit into where we live, and what "home" truly means to someone. They were also a major help co-directing this episode, helping to capture the energy brought to the script on a bigger scale.
Beautifully helping to bring this script to life was @SpooderGlen as our monotone lead. Glen is a truly underrated talent within the fandom, and truly captured the essence of Audrey with their amazing delivery and wonderful reads. They really helped to show her thoughtful and proactive mind and continues to be a fantastic friend to work with on projects.
With Duke's wonderful writing and Glen's delightful delivery, I can confidently say this was the perfect finale for what was an extremely fun edition of Meet the Crotoonians Weekends. Even if my schedule made it harder to keep up with some stuff just in time, it was great to dive more into spots of Crotoonia we haven't explored before and really push myself on more visual and storytelling levels this time around.
Shoutouts to Kasey and Mike for their additional voicework on this episode, the Crotoonia Crew for their endless support, my Patrons for making episodes like this possible...
