Surmi was created as an electronic jester, meant to entertain consumers and act as a corporate mascot. They were designed to be a living computer program, alive and aware, but unable
to experience any of the things that make life worth living. Because of this, they have a deep longing to experience what it means to be alive, craving love and validation, yet seek to punish those capable of giving it.
