Norm Charbonneau has become the leader for realism in 3-rail scale O gauge layouts. From his life-like scenery to the weathering techniques of his highly detailed structures to the incredible realistic look of his scale locomotives and cars - Norm is the new high-bar setter in O gauge 3-rail layouts. Norm has even gained a following among O scale 2-railers - a very demanding group.
In looking through the viewfinder to film Norm’s layout, you actually think – at least for a moment or two – you’re filming real trains. Over the past ten years we have documented each of his three layouts and covered his transition from hi-rail to 3-rail scale.
The first layout was shot in 2008 in standard definition and is part of this disc's bonus content.
The second two layouts, shot in 2012 and 2018, are presented here as they were meant to be seen and heard – in glorious high definition picture with re-mastered stereo audio and optional 5.1 Surround Sound.Additional bonus features include two segments with Norm demonstrating how he weathers his trains and optional audio commentary track by co-producer Joseph Stachler.
