Switching turtles right before dying gives invincibility against literally everything for one character! (You can have more than one at a time however.)
This state is kept through rooms , getting an healing item will get rid of it.
Another thing to note is that this glitch also allows you to have free movement for a short time during a switch , which isn't possible without this state.
I am doing this at the very end of the video during a screen transition ... Which turns my screen black.
