After immigrating to the U.S. from Syria with her family, Dareen completed her GED with TJACE@PVCC. She has gone on to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and is pursuing an Associate Degree from PVCC. Her future plans are to transfer to UVA for pre-med, with the hopes of one day becoming a doctor.
