This ad brands Jon Husted "the face of data centers in Ohio," charging that he spent years recruiting the facilities to the state, cut sweetheart tax deals, and fast-tracked approvals while ordinary Ohioans watched their utility bills climb, then doubles down by citing Husted's own words back at him, his now-infamous suggestion that critics should "look in the mirror" and his crack that people who don't like data centers can go back to using "bunny ear antennas on their televisions." The spot draws a straight line from Husted's decisions as lieutenant governor to the number on working families' monthly power bills, and it's become the centerpiece of Brown's entire Senate campaign, a strategy so effective that a leaked NRSC memo admitted the race is now a "dead heat" and called data centers "the anchor hanging around Husted's neck." Husted has tried to rewrite his own record by introducing a bill requiring data center companies to pay for their own electricity, but the ad argues Ohioans already know whose side he's on.

This is part of the Jim Heath Channel's Campaign Ads '26 project, building a permanent public archive of 2026 campaign ads, the money behind them, and the attacks voters may never see in their own state.
