All industrial processes have their limitations. The cutting process, for example, can cause slight displacements. To prevent parts of your tokens from being cut off, you need to keep a 2–3 mm distance between your artwork and the cutting line. This area is called the Safe Zone.
There are three key parts to any cut:
Bleed – where the artwork extends beyond the cutting line, used when you want the art to reach the very edges of the token.
Cutting Line – the exact line where the piece will be cut.
Safe Zone – the area inside the cutting line that contains the important artwork you don’t want to risk losing.
